# Instagram story downloader for public accounts

Type a public username, see the stories from the last 24 hours in order with their posting times, and save any photo or video as the file Instagram serves.

Tool: https://storykeep.app/instagram-story-downloader

This page takes a public Instagram username and lists the stories that account posted in the last 24 hours, in the order they went up, with the time each one was posted. Every photo and video has a save button that gives you the file itself, not a screenshot.

Nothing is stored on our servers. When you press save, the file is fetched from Instagram's servers at that moment and handed to your browser. Views go through our servers rather than through an Instagram account of yours, so you don't need to log in. Private accounts return nothing.

## What you can see

- **Save photos and videos** — Each story in the list has its own save button. Press it and the photo or video downloads as a single file, one at a time or in the order you pick.
- **See posting times** — Every story shows the time it was posted and how long it has left before it expires. The list runs oldest to newest, the same order Instagram shows them.
- **Save a whole day** — With a Pro pass you can select several stories, or all of them, and download one zip instead of saving files one by one.

## How it works

1. **Open the account** Find the public Instagram account whose stories you want, and copy its username.
2. **Paste the username** Type or paste it into the box on this page and press the button.
3. **Pick the stories** The last 24 hours appear in order with posting times; choose one or select several.
4. **Save the files** Press save to download the photo or video, or take the whole selection as one zip with a Pro pass.

## Why people use StoryKeep

- **Files, not screenshots** — You get the image or video file Instagram serves, at its own resolution, with no watermark added by us and no re-encoding on our side.
- **No account, no login** — You type a username and nothing else. We never ask for your Instagram password, and we don't handle cookies or logins of any kind.
- **Free limit and Pro pass** — Free covers 10 lookups a day at standard quality. A Pro pass is a one-time payment, $14.9 for 30 days or $6.9 for 7 days, and adds original-quality files, unlimited lookups for normal use (fair-use limit 70 a day) and zip downloads.
- **Public accounts only** — If an account is private, the tool returns nothing at all. We don't ask you to follow it, and there is no way around that here.

## Questions

**Can the account owner see that I looked at their story?**

The view is made by our servers, not by an Instagram account of yours, so Instagram shows the owner nothing about you. We store nothing about the lookup either: no history, no files, no username log.

**Do private accounts work?**

No. The tool only reads stories from public accounts. If the account is private, the page returns nothing, and there is no follow request or other way in.

**Are reels and videos supported?**

Yes. Video stories save as video files and photo stories save as images, each with its own save button. The same username box works for other public video posts on the account.

**What quality is the saved file?**

Free lookups give the standard quality Instagram serves for previews. A Pro pass gives the original file Instagram serves, at the resolution the account uploaded.

**How many lookups do I get for free?**

10 lookups a day without an account, at standard quality. A lookup is one username check. A Pro pass removes that daily cap for normal use, with a fair-use limit of 70 a day.

**Do I need to install anything or make an account?**

No. The tool runs in your browser. There is no sign-up, no app to install, and no Instagram login.

**How long do stories stay available?**

Instagram stories disappear 24 hours after posting, and this page only shows what is still up. Once a story expires it can't be fetched here.

**Is this connected to Instagram or Meta?**

No. StoryKeep is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Instagram or Meta. It reads public content only.
